Description

Please note that this is a half bottle - 37.5cl

The Sancerre is made wholly from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. The grapes are always harvested at peak maturity, which will enable the development of aromas of fresh cut grass, white flowers, citrus and exotic fruits, infused throughout with the typical Loire elegance and mineral character.

Enjoy as an aperitif or with seafood, oysters, smoked fish or foie gras. Splendid with Goat's cheese.

The Dezat family is one of the oldest wine-growing families in Sancerre. References to the family can be found in records dating as far back as 1550. André Dezat took over the family vineyards in 1948 and actively promoted the wines of Sancerre. In the 1970's, he was joined by his sons, Louis and Simon. Now, his grandson, Firmin, takes on the domain and in an organic direction, keeping it a family business.

Firmin Dezat

Firmin Dezat is the 18th generation of Dezat family to operate this vineyard, producing wines in the historic cellars of his grandfather André. The identity of the estate and wines is in line with the terroirs from which they come. Firmin produces exceptional Sancerre & Pouilly-Fumé wines from his 8 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc vineyards. His winery has converted to organic farming since 2021.

Loire Valley

The Loire Valley in France is a prestigious wine region renowned for its diverse wines and picturesque landscapes. Stretching along the Loire River, it benefits from a varied climate and a range of soil types, ideal for viticulture. It is particularly famous for its white wines, including the crisp and mineral-rich Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, and the aromatic Chenin Blanc from Vouvray and Saumur. The area also produces excellent reds, such as the light and fruity Cabernet Franc from Chinon and Bourgueil. Rosé and sparkling wines, like Crémant de Loire, add to the diversity of the region. With its rich winemaking heritage, varied terroirs, and high-quality wines, the Loire Valley offers an exceptional experience for wine enthusiasts seeking both classic and innovative wines.
