Cape Town is where wine production in South Africa started in 1659. It's close proximity to the ocean provides a terroir which has proved itself ideal for raising vines over the centuries. Nestled between ancient mountains and two oceans gives a cool climate with moderate temperatures all year round.
A classic Bordeaux blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are destemmed into open-top fermenters and pressed off into stainless steel tanks. Fermentation lasts roughly 10 days with daily punch downs (2-3 times per day). Maturation premium French oak for 18 months.
This delicious, juicy blend shows soft fruit scents, mulled berries, subtle pink pepper and cedar wood on the nose, which evolves to blackberry, cassis and soft notes of coffee bean and spice on the palate. It has a lingering, velvet finish with soft tannins and balanced freshness.
