We host free wine tastings where we offer the chance for mail list members to try some wines that we have been enjoying.
We also hold charged events for a more comprehensive wine tasting experience. Winemakers or their representative lead guided sessions giving members of the public the opportunity of hearing the story behind the label.
Places for these types of events are limited so in order to make sure you are invited please add your name to our mailing list.
We will e-mail you to let you know of any upcoming events. Please ensure that you RSVP as places are on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Events are usually held on a Tuesday or a Wednesday and are likely to last up to one hour.
Although you may not be over the legal drink-drive limit, we would strongly recommend that you don't drive afterwards.

The Capezzana estate, 24 km north west of Florence, is owned by the Contini Bonacossi family. The younger generation is now firmly in charge of the estates 100 hectares of vineyard, with daughter Benedetta Contini Bonacossi as winemaker. Stefano Chioccioli is the estates consultant winemaker. The wines and the olive oil have an ineffable elegance which marks this estate out from the crowd. Barco Reale was the biggest property belonging to the Medici Grand Dukes, and the Capezzana estate was part of this property. It was surrounded by a wall 50 km long and two metres high. In 1716, Grand Duke Cosimo III de Medici issued a decree (Decretu motu Proprio) which effectively demarcated the Carmignano zone. |

The Rallo family has made wine here since 1851, and their ancient cellars tunnel beneath the city. They were one of the first families to begin making high quality table wine when sales of traditional sweet Marsala started to decline, launching the Donnafugata label in 1983, and championing some of the more obscure regional Italian grape varieties.
We tasted the following wines:
Donnafugata ‘Polena’
Donnafugata ‘Sherazade’
Donnafugata ‘Tancredi’
Donnafugata ‘Mille e Una Notte’
Donnafugata ‘Ben Rye’ Passito di Pantelleria |

Located in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, West Cape Howe is one of the most southerly points, rising some 250 metres above the Southern Ocean.
“It seems a day doesn’t pass without a new winery appearing on the landscape. Far too frequently they disappoint, but that is a story best left for another time. Occasionally you stumble across a new player that brightens even the most sombre of moods. West Cape Howe from the Great Southern region of Western Australia is one such producer. If you are looking for wines that are honest yet interesting, this range is worth exploring.”

Isole e Olena is situated in the western part of Chianti Classico, just north of the village of Castellina. Its 45 hectares of vineyard are situated between 350-450 metres above sea level, and are planted primarily on galestro soil.
The estate has been run by Paolo De Marchi since 1976 and his vineyards are superbly tended. This, more than anything, yields wines of the quality that have kept Isole e Olena ahead of the chasing pack for the past two decades.
Paolo also owns a family estate in Lessona, Piemonte which he recently revived with the help of his eldest son Luca. They planted primarily Nebbiolo(the wines from this area were more famous than Barolo in the 19th century) and are now making a wonderful array of wines, some of which we will be tasting with Luca. |
